Ex-Dev Advocate Matt Hamilton, now director of Developer Relations at Bittensor, explained why Ripple (XRP) has been able to maintain its position in the top 10 in the cryptocurrency market.

In reaction to a tweet from NFT-social MAKER’s media manager, Victor Duran, Hamilton made a series of remarks about the XRP.

No DEX?! The XRP Ledger was the very first DEX. It was the first blockchain to allow the tokenisation of assets. It has NFTs, and native NFT support is currently being voted on by the community for activation. Most SC functionality is built in, but also “hooks” being developed

Duran tweeted that he knows little about Ripple XRP other than it aspires to make cross-border payments inexpensive. He then questioned if the platform is being utilized. He went on to say that he is intrigued how Ripple has managed to stay in the top 10 when it has “no DEXs, smart contracts, or NFTs,” and its case against the SEC is still pending.

Clapping back at him in the comments section was Matt Hamilton, who responded by saying: “No DEX?! The XRP Ledger was the very first DEX. It was the first blockchain to allow the tokenization of assets. It has NFTs, and native NFT support is currently being voted on by the community for activation.”

He proceeded to say that XRP has remained among the top 10 cryptocurrencies because it works. It carries out its advertised function. The XRP Ledger remains the finest blockchain for payments and value transfers. It is decentralized, secure, quick, affordable, scalable, and well tested. The cryptocurrency has withstood the test of time.

At the beginning of 2021, Matt Hamilton became Ripple’s Director of Developer relations. His primary responsibilities include the expansion and development of the XRP ecosystem. He made the decision to depart the organization around two months ago.

Matt made the announcement of his departure from the company in a blog post, claiming ‘personal issues.’ He acknowledged that this choice may take some people by surprise, but he confirmed that the next day would be his last working with Ripple. Despite this, Matt has said that he would continue to be an active member of the XRP Ledger community.
